This is okay. The idea with popup lights is that the car looks smooth with them down, and when they’re up it’s for safety and it’s dark so it doesn’t matter so much.

This means people who take photos in the daylight with the lights up are doing it wrong.

And it does look pretty good with them down

There are some that do work, but most are just terrible.

C4's are cool because of how they pop up.

True, but it looks better than the front of a standard F40, but not the F40 LM. Yeah, I’m probably going to be crucified for this unpopular opinion, but appearance is almost entirely subjective and therefore confirms the fact that I am correct. The strange glass-covered running lights (or whatever the hell they are) on a standard F40, combined with dopey rectangular popups, just make the car look like it’s stoned. The LM brings the needed aggression back to the front of the F40. You know I’m right and cannot possibly deny this; if you do, see my previous comment about subjectivity and correctness. See? I’m still right.

I agree. The road going F40 looks kind of dopey with the headlights down, and odd with them up. This is much better.
